UZ Brussel and VUB researchers developed a new treatment for melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer. Read more.
UZ Brussel scientists are the first to develop stem cells from embryos without destroying the embryos. Read more.
At present, UZ Brussel is working on a blood test for cancerdiagnosis. This kind of test is only available for the detection of lungcancer. Patients who are diagnosed in this way can receive specific treatments which can increase their life expectancy from an average of several years upto 10 years. These blood tests can also be used to diagnose other forms of cancer, many more lives will be saved.
